Girly Night out!

Top - Topshop (I cut it into a crop top)
Skirt - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Bag - Aldo
Cuff Bracelet - Regal Rose

Just a quick outfit post on what i wore to go out in last night. I had a last minute panic buy as i decided i had absolutely nothing to wear which i'm pretty sure happens to most of us girls! The panic buy was the metallic pleated skirt which worked out well, and is definitely an item that i will wear in different ways all summer. I can't wear anything body-con as i do have post-uni beer belly, so this skirt is perfect as it skims over it fabulously! I know showing your midriff is a big trend at the moment, and i didn't think i'd be able to pull it off confidently. However i felt because my skirt was elasticated that it wouldn't dig into me and reveal any attractive back fat! In the summer i do intend to wear maybe a white or pastel coloured crop vest top with it.

Also my odd poses are down to me and my dad playing around with my new camera; we had the continuous shot setting on as you might be able to tell! (Trust me these were the least embarassing ones)

Anddd heres a lovely close-up of my make-up for your entertainment.

Hope you enjoyed my post!

Play Time

Thank god it's Friday! I am having a particularly fun Friday as i have FINALLY got a decent camera so i can take lots of fab pics now for my blog. My dad bought it off Ebay (thanks dad!) and it was a real bargain. I started playing around with it this morning so thought i'd do a little picture tour of my bedroom seen as i love my room so much! Enjoy.

And here is my gorgeous dog Jessie <3

Hope you all have a fab weekend!

Brit Awards 2012

As i type the Brit Awards is in full swing and Rihanna has just performed who even looks good in worker boots, no fair! Anyway, just thought i'd do a little post on who i thought was the best dressed at the Brit Awards 2012.

Pixie Lott looks stunning in a Dolce & Gabbana floor length corset dress. The red velvet clutch, lippy and ringlet curls add a touch of 40's glamour to the outfit.

Fearne Cotton does monocrome in a Miu Miu embellished blouse and skirt. Monocrome appears to be a popular trend at The Brit Awards tonight as celebrities such as Emeli Sande and Holly Willoughby rock this look too. Fern's sleek hair and perfect make-up complete the outfit.

Brit Award winner Lan Del Rey (i love her album right now!) Does old school Hollywood glamour in a floor length Vivienne Westwood gown.

Who do you think was the best dressed at The Brit Awards tonight?

I May As Well Be A New Look Advertisement!

A quick outfit post as i am going to catch the train to see my boyfriend down south and won't be able to blog again till Monday! I am well and truely itching to wear some Spring colours, whilst still looking acceptable when i'm out and about in the miserable English weather.

My outfit today is mostly from New Look which is an accident! I am feeling a lot of love for New Look at the moment, which is quite a surprise as it isn't often that i buy from there. I have been after some skinny bright coloured jeans that are made from soft material, and i have been struggling so much to find some that fit me. I am a funny shape when it comes to jeans, so i was over the moon when these bright blue ones fitted me perfectly!

Blazer, top and jeans - All New Look
Brogues - Primark

The jeans were £22.99 i think, which is a bargain compared to the Topshop ones i was thinking of getting! I may have to go back and get every colour now as they are really comfy and i know i will wear them so much this S/S.

Cage Ring - H&M
Cross Ring - Topshop
Nail Polishes - Barry M

I have been playing around with my nail polishes recently and i really like using 2 similar colours and painting the nails randomly with them. I opted for pastel pink and fuschia as i am in such a Springy mood lately!

Also i aim to have a proper camera soon as i know these pics look really bad quality and so amateur! I literally have the oldest Blackberry in the world and is the only camera i have. Anyhoo i hope everyone has a lovely weekend and has enjoyed this post!

Spring Fashion Show 2012

I haven't posted in over a week (smack my hand) as i have been extremely busy and had really annoying shifts at work. Excuses aside, i have lots of gossip and fashion to make up for it! Last Wednesday i attended The Spring Fashion Show 2012 which was held at The Pitcher and Piano bar in Manchester, and is in it's third successful year now.

The show is really good as it allows new designers who are trying to get their name out there a chance to show off their designs and get free publicity. The show is sponsored by online fashion magazine Urban Coco and online fashion store Fashion Pony with all profits going to Oxfam!

So me and my friend Mel who is a freelance photographer (see her blog here) made the scenic journey from Sheffield to Manchester and managed to get loads of fab pics from the night.

We arrived quite early, so had a bit of time to kill before the catwalk show started. We had a mooch around all the individual stalls, and here i am holding one of the gorgeous t-shirts from the burlesque/vintage inspired boutique Pretty Disturbia.

Mother Said is a quirky jewellery company where they make message in a bottle necklaces. You can even e-mail them with your own personalised messages!

L'Atelier is a contemporary clothing boutique who had some gorgeous pussybow blouses and lacy feminine dresses. See their collection here.
So after resisting buying anything (my lack of cash was the only reason for this!) we then had a sneaky peek backstage which was ridiculously hectic, and i'm pretty sure we wasn't supposed to be there but no-one told us to leave so hey-ho and here's some of the looks the models were rocking...

First pic: Love this models hair so much here! So quirky and cool and definitely an achievable look (just need a big can of hairspray).
Second pic: Magical under-the-sea inspired make-up looked fab on the catwalk, but may need toning down slightly for us normal people.
Third pic: Exaggerated feline flicks and razor sharp cheekbones was another hot look the models were rocking, giving an edgy, cool attitude.

There were ten collections from new and emerging designers who had travelled from all over the country to show-case their designs at the SFS (Spring Fashion Show). So i have a few pics of my top 3 favourite collections from the show, but you can see all the designers' collections on the official SFS website here.

All in all it was a great night with a fab atmosphere, and there was plenty of trendy Manchester fashionistas who gave me lots of inspiration for my own outfits. Here are a couple we especially loved and the stylish front row on the catwalk...

Jewellery Love

Every few weeks i get a jewellery or shoe craving, like when you get a craving for something sweet after your tea, i get that with jewellery and high heels! A lot of my friends in the past have always come to me to borrow jewellery as i can guarantee i will have something that will go with any outfit. When i'm out shopping I am literally like a magpie; anything shiny, glittery and unusual and i swoop in like a hawk. If i'm trying to resist buying jewellery i have to avoid the jewellery section in Topshop in order to maintain my self-control, it's a serious problem i tell you!

So anyway, yesterday i gave into my jewellery craving as me and the boyfriend had a wander into Sheffield city centre. Since finishing university i don't go as often now so it was a nice change from Meadowhall shopping centre and it was beautiful weather outside! Bright, clear and cold which is my favourite kind of weather as i get to wrap up in my fur coats.

I bought four pieces of jewellery; one necklace and three rings. Here are my buys...

Peter Pan Collar - £12 - Dorothy Perkins

Rings all from H&M (left to right):
Pom Pom Ring - £1.99
Cage Ring - £3.99
Pink Stone Ring - £3.99

I love my armour rings and have been wanting a gold one for a change. I really like this one as it isn't as chunky as my other ones and i love the cage style of it.

How cute is this pom pom ring?! As soon as i saw it i knew it would be a best-seller and would look fab with all girly pastel colours that are in this Spring, so i simply had to have it. I saw a very similar one on the Asos website but was a lot dearer so i'm extremely pleased with my bargain buy version.

I love the gothic detail on this ring! I will wear this with my armour ring and a few other silver rings for a rock chick look.

This necklace is part of my new jewellery collection this week too so thought i'd share it with you as i absolutely LOVE it. The necklace came in the post at the beginning of the week after hunting it down at the Urban Outfitters store in Manchester. I got it for the sale price of £5 as well which made my day even more as i have been obsessing after it for a while and would have happily paid the full price of £16 for it. I have a muffin in my hand which i made myself last night in case you was wondering what it was!

Also, do you like my nail polish? I got a bit bored of wearing just one colour so thought i'd mix it up a bit! These are my real nails too which is probably the longest they have EVER been, so i'm rather proud of them.

I plan on wearing the Peter Pan collar necklace tonight as i'm going out for a meal with my friends then to the pub, so i shall try and do an outfit post later if i have time! Also it depends on the snow because as i speak it is coming down fast and settling, yay!

Hope your all having a lovely weekend :)
