Bohemian Vibes

Dress | Missguided
Shoes | Garage Shoes

    Necklaces | H&M

 Left | Rings | Primark & Norbu

Right | Rings | Blackmoon Shop & Topshop

Do I dare say that summer is officially here in the UK? A bold statement but I think it's safe to say the weather is looking pretty sweet for the foreseeable future! So as the weather was so gorgeous this Easter bank holiday I slapped some tan on and got my pins out in this beauty of a dress; yes it isn't the most summery of colours but the tassels and suede material made me feel like a bohemian princess! The tassel details are right up my street and is going to be a perfect outfit for my jollys in 5 weeks time too.

I wore it with my chunky white heels and dark red lipstick to give it my staple grungy look, along with stacks of silver rings of course. One item that i intend to add to this outfit though is this amazing little vintage style bag from Asos; this is going to be a perfect accessory for my holiday wardrobe too!

Outfit Post | An elephant never forgets

Hat | Topshop
Top | Asos
Shorts | Urban Outfitters
Sandals | Asos
Necklace | Topshop
Rings | Asos

Apologies for the lack of posts lately, I have been making the most of the little time I had left with my boyfriend before he went away to America for 7 weeks *sob* BUT now I have lots of time to do lots of blog posts, starting with a classic outfit post.

Pretty much everything in this post is brand new. I have been treating myself to some summery clothes as I am going away in 3 weeks, and due to lack of holidays in the last two years I am very excited to buy proper summer attire. I know I still have only bought black and white, but what can I say, it just goes with everything!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my elephant print shorts. The style, the print and the material is my idea of a perfect pair of shorts and they are easy to dress up or wear casually. I am in love with anything tribal/african/aztec at the minute, which includes my statement necklace that caters for my grungier side too.

My sandals which are pretty much ankle boots with holes in them (I just love ankle boots that much!) are so up my street and I think are a pretty unusual take on the regular sandal. I have to admit, they aren't that comfy, yet. I don't care though as I love them too much to send back!

I have lots more holiday outfit posts to come up so stay tuned! Due to a few requests, I am also considering doing a tutorial on how I apply my eyeliner. If this is something you would be interested in then please let me know :)

Outfit Post | Reworked

 Headband | Topshop
Crop Top | New Look
Skirt | Ark (reworked)
Shoes | Missguided
Choker & Rings | Ebay

My outfit posts lately have all been super casual and day time looks, so I thought i'd mix it up a bit and show you an outfit I would like to wear on my next night out (can you tell I don't get out a lot?) I have also done my "going out" make-up, which is basically the same as my normal make-up apart from the eyeshadow.

Tartan has shown it's pretty face again and is a trend that comes and goes as often as the sun does in England (especially today, never known the weather have as many mood swings!) which is why I never binned this skirt which I got in my first year of uni. Originally it was a tad longer and baggier, but my super star of a mum shortened it for me and it fits a lot better now.

My shoes are my babies and my favourite heels I own! Even though they are extremely high I can assure you they are comfy and easy to walk in, if you know how to walk in stilts. The pentagram choker necklace is my most recent and favourite find on eBay. I have been searching the shops for a nice choker without much luck, but as usual eBay saved the day, and all for a purse-friendly £3.

I am off to bed now as I have an early start and day of travelling to Ireland tomorrow, hopefully I will have some nice photos and outfits to share with you when I get back!

Outfit Post | Day-to-Day

Hat, Leggings & Shoes | Topshop
Top | H&M
Cardigan | Urban Outfitters
Necklace | River Island
Black Stone Ring | Forever 21
Other Rings | eBay

I really love how my new shoes go with pretty much everything I own. They give me a much needed height boost and are EXTREMELY comfortable too. The cardigan is also a recent purchase and is great for this time of year when it's just starting to get warm enough to leave the house without a jacket! It's super comfy and again, goes with pretty much anything.

I added the neon vest top to brighten up this outfit and jazzed it up with a nice big chunky necklace. I have had my leather-look leggings foreverrrrrr, and they never fail to add a bit of texture to day time outfits! I have however been on the hunt for leather trousers so I can actually wear short tops and t-shirts without having to worry about covering my derriere up like I do in my leggings. I can't find any that fit me right and for a reasonable price, so if you know of any skinny leather-look trousers then please let me know!

I know I have been mostly blogging outfit posts lately, so if you would like me to blog about something different then your suggestions are most welcome. I find that personally I am most attracted to outfit posts when I browse other blogs, but if you want to read something different then I am more than happy to vary it up a bit :)

Outfit Post | Heavy In The Day

Hat & Rucksack | New Look
Dress | Topshop
Jacket | Miss Selfridge
Boots | Dr.Martens
Necklace | Urban Outfitters
Bracelet | Gift
Rings | eBay & Forever 21

I love it when I rediscover an old item of clothing that you totally forgot about (my mum would say that's a sign of having too many clothes, I disagree!). I did this with my black fedora hat which I got nearly two years ago now when I was on work experience in London. It is a little out of shape from being squished in my drawer but oh well, you can't really tell!

The dress is a new purchase from Topshop and was the perfect day to night dress on my recent trip to Amsterdam. It's extremely comfortable, flattering and the perfect length for my height which is something i normally struggle with when it comes to dresses.

I did wear it without tights and just knee-high socks in Amsterdam but it was a wee bit chilly today!

The Dr.Martens are also a new purchase which I got for the bargain price of £58 brand new from eBay. Pretty good considering the retail price is £125! Still in the early stages of wearing them in though, can't say they are the comfiest shoes i've ever had (I blame my stupidly arched feet).

Next weekend I will be going to Radio One's Big Weekend in Ireland to visit my boyfriend, and I can definitely say this will be a perfect outfit for the festival.

Today I am blogging from Gotherburg in Sweden, so here is my first outfit post abroad! I'm visiting my boyfriend on tour and this is my last full day with him.

I have to say I really love this city, all the guys look like Zara models, the streets are clean, the sun is shining and everyone sits outside drinking wine, what more could you want?

I am gonna keep this post short and sweet as I am now off to have another drink in the sun :)

Outfit Post | Boho

Dress | Primark
Shoes | Topshop
Head Chain | Rock 'N' Rose
Necklace | Empty Casket
Rings | Ebay, Forever 21, Primark

In my last outfit post I mentioned how I tend to claim items of clothing back that I designate for Ebaying just before I put them up for auction...well i've done it again.

I have literally had this Primark dress for YEARS. I think I got it when I was about 17 which was 6 years ago, flippin' eck! I have held on to it for so long waiting for an opportunity to wear it again and I feel now is the right time.

I teamed it up with some chunky Topshop boots and Rock 'N' Rose head chain to give it a bit of an edge, and I would wear a leather jacket and rucksack to finish the look. I haven't dared to wear it out yet as it takes a lot for me to get my legs out during the day time in England, however after this recent lovely weather it may not be long before I dare to bare!

One more thing, the lilac lipstick i'm wearing is by Barry M and is my new favourite lipstick; i'm in love with it! Literally worn it everyday since I bought it.

What do you think of this look? All thoughts and comments are extremely appreciated :)

Outfit Post | To Sell or Not to Sell

 Jeans and Hat | Topshop
Top | Primark
Creepers | Garage Shoes
 Necklaces | Empty Casket

If you follow my Instagram or Twitter you may know that I am constantly selling my clothes on eBay (click here if you want to have a nosey at what i'm selling!), however I have a bad habit of 'claiming' clothes back that I intended to sell but then change my mind just before I put them up for auction. In this case I did it with this yellow vintage style bird print blouse from Primark.

I haven't worn it in over a year (admittedly I kinda forgot about it) but rediscovered it as I was sorting my clothes out for eBaying, and decided it was a keeper after all! To prove to myself that I did need to keep it I wore it today to go shopping in and this is how I styled it.

I have also rediscovered my creepers that I bought last summer now that the weather is finally getting milder, it's a welcomed change from wearing ankle boots!

Company Fashion Forum | Manchester

Yesterday I had a really fun day out in Manchester at the Company Fashion Forum! I saw the advert for the event in last month's Company magazine and I knew that I needed to go (nothing to do with the free goody bags...ahem). After my recent job loss and relentless hunt for a job/internship in fashion, a chance to receive expert advice from Victoria White, the editor of Company magazine (my dream job!) along with a panel of fashion industry insiders seemed like an opportunity not to be missed.

The Panel

The Panel
The event was held at Manchester University in one of the lecture rooms which was full of fellow bloggers, fashion students and enthusiasts, all of whom were super stylish! It was a great opportunity to get some fashion inspo as well as fashion job advice.

The event involved the panel talking individually about themselves and their jobs, and how they managed to get where they are today. Their jobs all varied so much but a lot of the advice was quite similar; work hard, make yourself indispensable and you will get the job!

I decided to take notes of things I needed to improve/do based on the advice I received:
  • Make your job application stand out; send your C.V in the post with a handwritten letter in a package and be as creative as possible.
  •
  • If you're sending an email make the subject line stand out with something funny or interesting, otherwise it will just get deleted without being read.
  •
  • Keep cover letters brief; all the employer wants to know is why you love the company and want to work for them and what you can offer.
  •
  • Cut out any irrelevant jobs/work experience on your C.V, the employer doesn't want to know your life story! Make it short, snappy and to the point.
  •
  • Offer to set up and look after the social media for a local fashion boutique or store that doesn't have a strong online presence, it all counts as experience and you are helping them out for free.
  •
  • Get a LinkedIn account and Twitter, this is the best way to network online and 'stalk' the people/companies you want to work for!
  •
  • If you have a blog make it good; there's no point in having a blog if it's rubbish!
  •
  • Get as much experience working for magazines as possible, once you've worked for one the chance is you will get to move around and work for many more.

This was just a fraction of the advice given to us at the event, if I told you all of it this post would be pages and pages long! It was all super inspiring and motivating though, and I will be spending a lot of time taking on board all this advice and improving my chances of landing a job in fashion.

Now on to the important stuff, the goody bag!

The Goody Bag

From Left to Right Clockwise | Right Guard deodrant spray, Palmer's Cocoa Butter, Little White Lie tanning lotion, Dentek floss picks, Velvotan tanning mitt, Nail Art Nail Tattoos, Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets, Batiste Dry Shampoo, Colour Extreme Hair Art in blue, Sour Cream and Onion Popchips, Gold by Giles Mega Volume Lashes, Miner's The Matte Factor Lip Paint and Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White toothpaste

So the free bag of goodies just made the day even better! My top three freebies have to be the Palmer's Cocoa Butter, Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White toothpaste and Nail Art Nail Tattoos. I shall definitely be trying the Nail Tattoos this weekend for my friends' birthday night out!

And last but not least here is what I wore for the Company Fashion Forum:

Leather Look Leggings and Boots | Topshop
Coat | Missguided
Rucksack | New Look
Neon Necklace | H&M
Black Chain Necklace | River Island

Please excuse my poor quality phone pictures throughout this post!

I hope you all have a nice weekend :)
